Many organisations prefer Telenor coverage because there is a perception that Telenor has the best coverage network. Is this perception correct? An objective answer to which of the network operators, Telenor, Telia and ICE, has the best coverage is complex and depends, among other things, on where the company's employees are travelling. Locally, there can be major differences between Telenor and Telia.
Coverage affects both call quality and the speed of your data connection. Different operators utilise different frequency bands in different geographical locations to produce calls. Phones also have different technology and utilise the frequencies of mobile operators differently. In other words, there are many factors that affect coverage and whether employees will find that the chosen provider has good coverage. In other words, it's not just Telenor's network versus Telia that is decisive, but rather several individual factors for each company.
Adite is constantly testing the various suppliers, including all those providing Telenor coverage. This allows us to identify the strengths and weaknesses of all suppliers. Many businesses set good coverage as a requirement. We can help you make the right choice for your business.
Here is the list of providers with Telenor coverage.
Telenor itself has the largest market share in the Norwegian telecoms market by a considerable margin. The price is relatively high, but this is justified by the fact that everything generally "just works".
Phonect is only in the business market, but has more than 10,000 customers in Norway. In addition, they offer eight different subscriptions with different data packages, so you're likely to find something that meets your employees' needs.
Atea is a relatively new player in the mobile market, but as an IT company with 1,650 employees it is well established in the Norwegian business market. Atea offers three different mobile subscriptions for businesses, with 1GB, 5GB and 15GB data respectively.
Dipper's prices are favourable compared to the rest of the market. Among other things, they point out that they don't have any ties, and unlike most in the business market, Dipper offers Data Rollover.
Talkmore also has a wide range of mobile subscriptions for businesses, as well as being able to keep prices low. On their website, they also point out that their customers' mobile subscriptions are completely free of commitment, and Data Rollover is included.
Saga Mobil is fairly unknown to many, but offers mobile telephony to both the business and private markets. They are located further north in the country and are relatively small. Saga Mobil also offers Data Rollover.
Oyatel is also not very well known in the Norwegian mobile market. They are playing a lot on price. As of September 2019, you get 12GB of mobile data for €299.
These seven organisations provide business subscriptions with Telenor coverage, but coverage is far from the only thing you should consider.
The companies mentioned above all utilise Telenor's mobile network. Both Talkmore and Dipper are wholly owned by Telenor itself. Dipper is often better suited to small and medium-sized businesses in growth, which is by far the largest proportion of businesses in Norway.
Phonect, Atea, Saga Mobil and Oyatel are not owned by Telenor, but lease access to the coverage network.
What should you look for, other than good Telenor coverage?
Purchasing mobile subscriptions for businesses is not a strategic purchase, yet in many cases there is great potential for improvement.
The needs of the business will be constantly changing. If someone leaves, the company hires, data consumption increases or the company relocates, the requirements of the telecoms provider will also change. This makes it particularly unfavourable to be tied to a three-year agreement with poor terms.
In other words, functionality, distribution, data usage, self-service portals, service and price need to be taken into account. Not just when purchasing, but from month to month.
It's often in these areas that you'll see big differences between suppliers.
Don't fall into the trap of bad terms!
We've seen many examples of this. For example, some providers may have a cancellation fee of SEK 4,000 per subscription. Others have no cancellation fee at all.
Combined with a long notice period, it can be particularly difficult.
Some suppliers work with long commitment periods, although this can of course be influenced in negotiations. Others have no lock-in period at all. In addition, some may renew the agreement automatically.
Changing terms and conditions is something few people consider when making new purchases. The supplier may be free to change the terms and conditions without the customer's consent, which may of course be unfavourable to you as a customer.
Who is Adite?
Norwegian companies have on average 25% higher mobile costs than necessary, only because of the wrong combination of subscriptions and additional services for the employees.
Adite works exclusively with telecoms and has negotiated agreements on behalf of several thousand users - this enables us to achieve far better and cheaper solutions than individual companies within mobile telephony, broadband, fixed and IP telephony.
The advantage of using Adite is that we don't receive any kind of commission on the subscription you order. In other words, you can rest assured that we want to do what keeps your costs down.
The common denominator for companies that let Adite optimise their telecom procurement is often significant cost reductions, on average 40%.
